Welcome                       Amalgamated Appliance Holdings Limited (Amap) is a focused group specialising in importing,manufacturing and distributing branded household electrical and electronic durables.           The Group has achieved a leading position in the local market, providing a wide range of consumer electronics, small domestic appliances and associated products under a combination of proprietary and licensed global brands.           Amap’s strategy is to achieve and sustain competitive advantage through powerful, well-positioned brands, strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and retailers and continuously improving operational efficiency; and to grow through extensions into related products, categories, services and geographies.           Amap operates in a matrix structure, with two core sales and marketing divisions – Appliances and Electronics – supported by a mix of dedicated and shared resources and activities, including sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, repair service, administration and finance. The Group employs 1 220 people in a corporate head office, two factories, two distribution centres, a service centre and several sales and support offices around the country.           The Manufacturing Division forms an integral part of the Amap Group, operating two world-class factories, the one producing small domestic household appliances in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, and the other television sets and related electronics products in Atlantis, Western Cape. Each plant operates as an integrated part of its sister marketing division but Manufacturing has its own management structure, reflecting the unique requirements and dynamics of this set of activities.
